AN ACT relating to civil procedure; extending the statute of limitations for causes of action for gender transition services performed on minors; providing definitions; specifying applicability; and providing for an effective date.


WFA COMMENTARY:

Wyoming Family Alliance supports legislation that ensures that those who allow the mutilation of the genitalia of minors in the state of Wyoming will have a civil action brought against them.


WFA UPDATES:

3/4/24 – More sad news, this bill was also allowed to die through inaction.

2/28/24 – This bill has passed all the way through the Senate and was received for introduction into the House.

2/27/28 – This legislation has made it through the third and final reading in the Senate on a vote of 26-5. This means that the bill has passed all the way through the Senate and will crossover to the House of Representatives.

2/26/24 – This legislation has made it through the second reading in the Senate. There is one more step in that chamber before it can crossover to the House of Representatives.

2/23/24 – This legislation has made it through the first reading in the Senate. There are two more steps in that chamber before it can crossover to the House of Representatives.

2/22/24 – This bill passed the Senate Labor, Health, and Social Services Committee 5-0 yesterday and will be heard by the entire Senate today. Former transgender teen Chloe Cole testified for this bill in addition to the bill named after her, SF0099 Chloe’s Law-Children Gender Change Prohibition.
