What Is See You at the Library?
See You at the Library is a national day where thousands of families gather at public libraries for wholesome story hours that celebrate American, Constitutional, and Biblical values.
In the Cheyenne area, Wyoming Family Alliance and Moms for Liberty of Laramie County are sponsoring this event. All parents and children are invited to a story hour featuring Brave Books (wholesome children’s books). There will be snacks, goodie bags, and Brave Books giveaways!
NOTE: There are 325 See You At The Library events happening across the country on August 24th! Unfortunately, Kirk Cameron cannot attend each event and cannot join us in Cheyenne this year. Keep your fingers crossed for next year!
How It Started:
Last year, Kirk Cameron was denied by over 50 libraries to read his BRAVE book, As You Grow, on the Fruit of the Spirit. Kirk wrote letters to some of the libraries expressing his concern for their violation of the First Amendment. The libraries conceded, and he was allowed to read his book.
As Kirk Cameron hosted story hours reading his book, many libraries and protesters attempted to thwart him. Even the director of the American Library Association gave libraries tips on how to shut down these pro-God, pro-America book readings. From these challenges, See You at the Library was born! Kirk and communities of families around the nation hosted wholesome story hours on See You At the Library Day.
Is There An Age Limit?
Brave Books states that all of its books are suitable for children aged 4 to 12, but children of all ages are welcome to attend when accompanied by an adult.
Is Registration Required?
Registration is required to ensure we have enough supplies and treats on hand for all the kids! The only information needed to register is a parent or guardian’s name, along with the number of children they are bringing and their age group (s). For safety reasons, adults without children will not be permitted to attend. Your information is private and will never be sold, shared, or leased. You will not be added to any mailing list unless you specifically request this.
